The Virtek Ai Camera system integrates with laser projection systems for Foreign Object Debris (FOD) detection, particularly focusing on ply backing and other generic FOD.

The system by Virtek Vision International Inc.uses annotated images to pinpoint FOD locations on panels, halting workflow until the issue is addressed. It also archives images for future reference, allowing users to identify and address recurring FOD issues by analyzing data and making upstream adjustments, such as modifying ply cutter settings or adding splices.
